I’ve seen children, who are more inspired with the technology these days, when they see this pottery, which is being made by the artists live. Normally, you don’t see this; you can buy this pottery from different markets, but when you see these people who are making pottery, who are making this wooden work with their own hands—so, it’s really nice to see these people."

STORYLINE:
Pakistan’s Lok Mela festival, which celebrates the country’s diversity, brought arts and crafts from nearly every corner of the country to Islamabad.
Music filled the air during the first days of the festival, which started on Nov. 8 and will end on Nov. 17.
"I come here especially to listen to these artists in Punjabi… The Lok Versa festival provides food for the soul and makes elderly people like us feel younger," said 73-year-old Malik Muhammad Ashrif during his visit.
Stalls displayed traditional clothes, jewelry, and handicrafts.
Visitor Ali Mussa highlighted how live demonstrations by artists at the festival inspire attendees, especially children who are often drawn to technology.
He noted that artisans at the event create pottery and wooden crafts by hand in front of the visitors.
Traditional Pakistani cuisine is also available at stalls throughout the venue.
The festival is organized by Pakistan’s National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa).
