“President Lula’s presidency of the G20 was unique it wasn’t an isolated presidency by the Brazilian government, it was a presidency shared with civil society, it was shared with (social) movements and institutions. Although (the G20) had a lot of time for engagement groups, I don’t think that ever in the history of the G20 the presence of civil society has been so strong and so powerful.”
