STORYLINE:
Ukraine opened a pavilion at COP29 in Azerbaijan’s capital on Tuesday, with an art installation made up of seed embedded recycled paper.
One of the speakers at the opening was Ukraine’s climate adviser Oleksii Riabchyan, attending his 9th COP gathering.
Riabchyan hopes that during this year’s negotiations a financial goal is reached for loss and damage and that the phasing out of fossil fuels is included in the final text at the end of the conference.
"We will find a really great statement on how we will phase out fossil fuels, this is what I hope," said Riabchyan.
Fragments of the pavilion’s walls will be presented to Ukraine’s allies and planted.
