“I mean, the majority of my whole career is custom because, you know, it started off like that as a result of circumstance. I didn’t have the money to go into the high-end boutiques and purchase Louis and Gucci when I was young, so I had a great friend by the name of Rashid Booth and he was Muslim and they – him and his family, they made a lot of their clothes because they went to the (New York) fabric district to create their grab. So what he showed me when we didn’t have no money, which was also a blessing, was at the time, six yards, five yards at $6 a yard, is $30. You can make a whole outfit with that. You get an extra yard – you can actually get that extra yard to custom your Timberland boot, your sneakers. And even though your whole outfit would cost $30 to $35 from fabric and then probably be $20 to $30 for the seamstress who would custom your fit, the one thing you never had to worry about was somebody else looking like you.”

“You know what I’m saying? So those who went to the high-end boutiques and spent five, six, $700 on outfit, they definitely risk looking like somebody else. Well, I pulled up cost effectively looking like $1 trillion.”

STORYLINE:
British singer Rita Ora is excited to take on hosting duties once again at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards.
Speaking on the red carpet in Manchester, UK on Sunday night, Ora, who was joined by her movie director husband Taika Waititi, expressed her joy at presenting the awards show for the third time.
“There’s a few personal, sort of heartfelt moments coming in. Rae, who’s a sister of mine, there’s a lot of female power going on in the show. Overall, we’re back in the UK and it just feels good to come back. It feels like a huge reunion,” said Ora.
Hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes – who will receive the Global Icon Award and perform at the event – walked the red carpet in a striking cow print ensemble.
