"It was 10am and I was getting up to get my coffee pot and go to the balcony as usual. I felt a very strong explosion. This explosion hit the neighbour’s (house), who are families that were displaced and were staying in our village. There was a lot of smoke and rubble, our windows were smashed and there were some damage to my house. The house that was struck is 10 to 15 meters away from me.”

“The almost final list so far is the following, we pulled 24 martyrs and 8 injured to hospitals. Three of them were in good health and were tended to in the emergency room of the hospitals. The other five were hospitalized.”

“The Israeli entity is trying to spread a narrative that either there is an important figure in the resistance here in this town, or there are weapons warehouses. Our answer to this is that the important people are on the frontline resisting. It is impossible for them to be among the people, in civilian life. Concerning weapon warehouses, everyone can see in front of cameras that what is being pulled from under the rubble are women, children and elderly people who have nothing to do with weapons or rocket warehouses.”

“We feel sorry for the strike and what happened next to us to the neighbours. They have seven children. I had seen them and got to know them the other day. They were peaceful. On the contrary, they had someone from the Lebanese Internal Security Forces that works for the state, and we saw their garb and clothes in the rubble.”

STORYLINE:
An Israeli airstrike in Lebanon killed at least 23 people including seven children in Aalmat village north of Beirut, far from the areas in the east and south where Hezbollah militants have a major presence, officials said.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said another six people were wounded. There was no immediate Israeli comment.
Hassan Ghaddaf lived next door to a building in the village that was hit and described his shock following the strike.
