1. Smoke rising over Beirut’s skyline
STORYLINE:
A column of back some was seen rising over Lebanon’s capital Beirut on Thursday morning.
It follows reports of overnight Israeli airstrikes that hit Beirut’s southern suburbs, including one on a site adjacent to Lebanon’s only international airport.
Israel has been carrying out waves of airstrikes against what it says are Hezbollah targets and invaded Lebanon in early October.
