STORYLINE:
Lebanese citizens travelled into Syria through the coastal Arida crossing in northern Lebanon, heading to the Tartus countryside to flee Israel’s ongoing war with Hezbollah.

Israel’s escalated aerial bombardment has driven over half a million people to cross the border from Lebanon into Syria, overwhelming already strained resources and putting thousands of pregnant women in urgent need of assistance.

The Lebanese General Security recorded 361,300 Syrians and 177,864 Lebanese crossing into Syria between Sept. 23 and Nov. 1, according to a report by Lebanon’s crisis response unit.

Ibrahim Marjan, a Lebanese citizen, believes that there is "nothing" left in Lebanon worth to live for.

"That’s why we decided to come here. We were steadfast in the south but we decided to leave the country because there’s nothing worth living for anymore," he added.

Lebanon hosts over one million Syrian refugees, many who fled the war-torn country over a decade ago.

The war between Israel and Hezbollah has killed more than 3,000 people in Lebanon, the country’s Health Ministry said on Monday, more than double the number of people killed since their last major war two decades ago.

Last month, Israeli strikes cut off Lebanon’s main border crossing with Syria in the eastern Bekaa Valley which tens have thousands of people had relied on to escape.
