1. SOUNDBITE (English) Ken Jeong, actor:
"It’s been emotional. I’ve been on the phone banks for the last 3 hours for Everyone For Kamala and just being able to talk to folks in Pennsylvania, Michigan and North Carolina. And I just started Georgia. And I’ve done phone banking before, but nothing on this scale. And shout out to (Rep.) Eric Swalwell for organizing this and contacting me and and several others to be a part of this. This is – it’s been quite – it’s been quite inspiring. I’ve never been on something like this on such a grand scale. And to do it to do it in this fashion is quite unprecedented, absolutely."

2. SOUNDBITE (English) Ken Jeong, actor:
"I was just telling my wife, someone in Michigan who went to my standup shows, went to my standup show and actually tweeted like something in support of my standup show five years ago – and me and shout out to Linus – had a great phone call and totally refreshed my memory on how he met me and how I think I even contributed to his GoFundMe on this thing that was – it was almost like a just a fun little thing. And that was the most surreal phone bank."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Ken Jeong, actor:
"You know, my background as a physician employing my bedside manner, if you will. I think people will be surprised at when they talk to me directly and how how much I do listen. And because when I was a physician, let’s say, if people were adverse to treatment or even chemotherapy, if they had cancer and their concerns, I do think my medical training kind of comes into play. It really does. And I don’t talk about it in public, but but for you. So this is a first. But I really do. I do listen. And I think that and even on these phone calls and phone banking, I listen to opinions that are completely different from mine. And I don’t I don’t discount anybody."
STORYLINE:
Ken Jeong employed his physician "bedside manner" on Election Day as he made calls to Democrats in swing states for more than four hours Tuesday as part of the Kamala Harris campaign’s get-out-the-vote effort.
"It’s been emotional. I’ve been on the phone banks for the last 3 hours for Everyone For Kamala," the comedian and actor said. "It’s been quite inspiring. I’ve never been on something like this on such a grand scale. And to do it to do it in this fashion is quite unprecedented, absolutely."
Jeong said most of the people he called didn’t know who he was, but he randomly connected with a man in Michigan who had attended one of his standup shows.
"And then there’s been nice emotional moments too – where was talking to a wonderful lady whose mother had dementia and she’s voting and, you know, just talking about her family situation. No – it it that yeah – it gets me to my core, you know it really does," he said.
Jeong, who grew up in North Carolina and worked as a doctor before starting his career in Hollywood, said he enjoys talking with all voters, even those who make clear that they don’t agree with him politically.
