"And I really felt like it’s important for the middle to show up too because the election usually goes wherever the independents go. And I’m an independent, but I’m more worried about democracy than anything. I’m also a woman, so I care about women’s rights. As a professor, as a therapist I talk to a lot of people, and I’m really concerned that if we lose our democracy, we lose the country. We don’t have anything as long as we are that, we’re going to be able to fix whatever problems we have."

STORYLINE:
U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris held a campaign rally the night before the elections in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
"I am here to witness history because we already know who’s going to be the next president," said Danielle Miller, a resident of Pennsylvania and first time rally attendee.
Pittsburgh was Harris’ third stop of the day before finishing the evening in Philadelphia on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
"We’re in a moment of history and we’re fighting for our lives right now. Fighting for women’s rights, beyond that, but women’s rights so it gets no better. I have no idea who’s performing, I’m here for Kamala. That’s who I’m here for," said Mecca Reid, a Pennsylvania resident.
