4. SOUNDBITE (English) Nakesha McGuirk, a Democrat from Bensalem, Pennsylvania:
“Just because it’ll be a little bit easier. The work commute will be really long for the next couple of weeks. I figured that rather than run into the risk of not getting home in time to go and vote, that way, but it would be better to just do it this way early.”
5. Wide of line of voters
6. SOUNDBITE (English) Patrick Lonieski, a Republican from Buckingham, Pennsylvania:
“I mean, considering the process and people not trusting it in the past, it was a close election. And from what I understand, I think Bucks County was a pivotal area. And I think there might have been a difference of 4,000 votes four years ago. So I’m making sure I’m out here with my son getting our votes in.”

8. SOUNDBITE (English) Patrick Lonieski, a Republican from Buckingham, Pennsylvania:
“Adds a little more excitement to the atmosphere, and it just really shows the importance of getting out there and choosing the right candidate because our country has been through hell and the last four years have not been good. If you look at the prices of the groceries and inflation and the possible wars on horizon, I think we need a president in office like President Trump that can set this country back on the right path."

STORYLINE:
Voters in a bellwether suburban Philadelphia county courted heavily by the presidential candidates had their last chance Friday to apply for a mail-in ballot.

About 100 people were in line as of 4 p.m. at the county’s elections office in Doylestown, and reported that the process was taking about two hours.

One last straggler broke into a run to make it by the deadline as elections workers cheerfully counted down the seconds to 5 p.m.

The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot has passed in Pennsylvania, the biggest, most vote-rich presidential battleground state this year and has by far the most visits by Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris.

But a Bucks County judge had ordered the three-day extension in response to a Trump campaign lawsuit alleging that voters faced disenfranchisement when they were turned away by county application-processing offices that had struggled to keep up with demand, leading to frustration and anger among voters.
