4. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Mohammad Shallah, displaced resident from Gaza City:
"This will cause great starvation for people, and people will not be able to make a living. People are unable to make ends meet war during this war. This catastrophe is enough, these (terrible) living conditions are enough. It is enough that they are in tents, in the winter and the cold. It is enough that our children do not have blankets or a place to live in. People’s livelihoods, the bag of flour and canned food they eat (are all threatened). In this way they’re sentencing people to death."

6. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Abu Mustafa, displaced from Gaza City:
"This is an unjust decision. It is a decision by an enemy against the Palestinian people. Today the enemy is fighting us by all means. He is now directing to fight the humanitarian organisations that help the displaced and provide relief to the people, until they bring us to the point of hunger, until they distances us from our land and abandons us, and to make us lose hope of living in Gaza City. This is an unjust decision, and we say that this is against humanity."

STORYLINE:
Residents in Gaza expressed concern on Tuesday about two laws that were passed by the Israeli government a day earlier that could threaten the work of the main U.N. agency providing aid to people in Gaza by barring it from operating on Israeli soil, severing ties with it.
"This is an unjust decision," said Abu Mustafa, a displaced resident from Gaza City.
The laws, which do not immediately take effect, signal a new low for a long-troubled relationship between Israel and the U.N. Israel’s international allies said they were deeply worried about their potential impact on Palestinians as the Gaza war’s humanitarian toll worsens.
Under the first law, the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, or UNRWA, would be banned from conducting “any activity” or providing any service inside Israel.
The second law would sever Israel’s diplomatic ties with the agency.
The laws risk collapsing the already fragile process for distributing aid in Gaza at a moment when Israel is under increased U.S. pressure to ramp up aid.
