It was a showdown between concerned citizens and a raccoon. Video from a home camera in Vermont shows the standoff, which seems to be a big misunderstanding. The raccoon had been spotted wandering around the neighborhood with a jar on its head. These strangers were trying to come to its aid, but the animal was skeptical and tried to avoid them.
