STORYLINE:
Thousands of Colombians took to the streets of Bogota on Sunday to protest the government of leftist President Gustavo Petro.
Many held signs and chanted "out Petro" in a display of dissatisfaction with the social reforms he’s pushing, as well as the country’s security problems and economic situation.
Demonstrations against and in favor of the government have become a constant in Colombia since Petro came to power in 2022.
Petro is the first leftist president in a country that had always been governed by conservatives and moderates.
