(16 Sep 1976) RR7637A RHODESIA: WHAT THE WHITES THINK
In white-ruled southern Africa, the pressures for
change are increasing, and nowhere more rapidly
than in Rhodesia, which is one of the main targets in
Dr. Kissinger’s current peace bid. This report shows
how white Rhodesians are coping with the guerrillas
and gives a sample of their views. Also included is a
wide-ranging interview with Rhodesian premier Ian
Smith, in which he reveals his willingness to talk to Dr.
Kissinger but insists on preserving what he sees as
the essentials of civilization in Rhodesia.
