“Yeah, fa sho. My mama, that’s all she listened to. (recites his lyrics) ‘My mama from Tha H, she slowed it down for me at nine.’ For real. Sliding in the car, that’s all my mama got on. Either that, or Lil Wayne. Nah, fa sho. And like I said, with my dad, we slidin’ in the old schools (car), with some 26es (inch rims) on it, and he got Isley Brothers, R. Kelly. Like that’s what he had playing. He the only ones with these big ol’ speakers in his trunk blasting old school (music). Everybody else blasting this, you know, what’s on the radio. He not – that wasn’t him.”
(Reporter: “It’s almost – not to stereotype – you would think your mom, they would be flipped. Your mom would be listening to the slow songs…”)
“Yeah, you would. But nah. My pops was the one that was in the shower singing loud as I don’t know what. And my mama was in the shower acting like a gangster.” (laughs)
