Police fire tear gas at post-election protesters in Mozambique, shoot at journalists | DW News

Disputed elections in Mozambique have sparked clashes between protesters and police. The ruling Frelimo Party is claiming another victory, having won every election for the last 30 years. Opponents say the vote was rigged. The Reuters News Agency reported instances of police firing handguns at the protesters. Adriana Nuvunga, the director of Mozambique’s Center for Democracy and Human Rights, said two journalists were hit by the police’s bullets, but were not seriously wounded.
