4. SOUNDBITE (Farsi) Abbas Araghchi, Iranian Foreign Minister:
"As I said the region is in a state of alert and the chance for tensions and clashes is very high. The root cause for all of this is the crimes by the Zionist regime which started in Gaza and have now expanded into Lebanon."

6. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Fuad Hussein, Iraqi Foreign Minister:
“The continuity of the war and its expansion towards the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the use of Iraqi airspace for that is not accepted and firmly rejected. We are trying to prevent the war, but if it happened, God forbid, then Iraq and its airspace must be kept out of the war atmosphere.”

8. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Fuad Hussein, Iraqi Foreign Minister:
“If the upcoming war erupted, God forbid, and we didn’t stand against and prevent it, then it will lead to armed chaos, and terrorist organisations like Daesh and others will start to reorganise themselves and their terrorist attacks, and these organisations are a threat to the communities in the region and to international peace.”

STORYLINE:
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday that the Islamic Republic does not seek a regional war, as concerns grow over escalating attacks between Israel and Iran and its militant allies.
Araghchi warned however that Iran was prepared for "any situation."
“The Islamic Republic of Iran does not want escalated tensions and war, although it’s ready for any situation. We are ready for war, and ready for peace as well,” said Araghchi, speaking at a news conference in Baghdad after meeting his Iraqi counterpart.
Meanwhile, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein said Israel was forbidden from using Iraq’s airspace in a strike against Iran, fearing regional war.
Baghdad’s top diplomat said an outbreak of regional war will create a global crisis and create fertile ground for the re-emergence of extremist groups, namely the Islamic State group.
Israel is widely believed to be preparing a military response to Iran’s October 1st attack when it fired roughly 180 missiles into Israel.
