US President Joe Biden is in Germany to meet Chancellor Olaf Scholz with resolving the Middle East conflict high on the agenda. The visit comes as the US pushes toward a cease-fire in Gaza after Israel killed Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas and the mastermind of the Oct. 7 attacks that ignited a yearlong war in the Palestinian enclave. Biden will also hold talks with French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer later Friday.
