4. SOUNDBITE (English) Charlene Healy Falvey and Robert Falvey, tourists from Ireland:
“Last night wasn’t too bad in the sense that early on it seemed to be worse come 10:00. So like from 10:00 on, it was bad, but it wasn’t too bad. I think got to sleep around half 12 wasn’t so bad. But then 2:00, it came in a wave and for a half hour really just let loose. You could hear it because the direction changed and your head moved. So we were getting the back end of it. So it really was lashing against the window. Some of the big stuff was hitting against the window and where 9 floors up. So we really got a battering around half four but come 6:00, half six, back up again and seemed okay. You know, it was bad, but it wasn’t as bad as what you would imagine it."

So we are lucky that nothing really happens.” Greg: “Loads of messages from people back home to make sure we’re okay the phone was going quite a bit yesterday. It’s good to know that people at least cared”
