2. SOUNDBITE (English) Chance the Rapper, recording artist – on what keeps him mentally healthy:
“My new project, I’ve been releasing a few works the past three years. Just getting – revving up for it and kind of building a world around it. But yeah, ‘3,333,’ that was my most recent single and we debuted it in Minneapolis. And probably one of my favorite shows to date.”
(Reporter: ‘One of the songs deals with some of their struggles from the last album. Tell me about that?’)
Chance The Rapper: “Yeah, ‘3,333,’ that’s the song I was just talking about. I’ve been doing this a long time, since before there were cameras in my face, and my love for the art and my love for performing is really what keeps me going. And I think there’s a lot of artists out there that can relate to that.”

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Michael D. Ratner, producer/director – on Demi Lovato being a role model:
“It’s a slippery slope, you know – it cuts both ways. Being a role model, it’s tough because everybody’s expecting you to be perfect. And I think Demi has been very self-aware that she’s not perfect. She’s a work in progress. And that might make her, quite frankly, the best role model of all. Because nobody is, and she’s evolving. And I think that that willingness to feel uncomfortable, look stupid, do all those things are what make her so special because she’s not sitting on a soapbox saying everything’s all good and you need to be a certain way. She’s being open and honest and cathartic with these opportunities. And I think that that’s what makes her one of the biggest stars in the world.”

10. SOUNDBITE (English) Carson Daly, television personality – on celebrities stepping up for mental health:
“Well, I’ve been a part of a chain reaction. I mean, Kevin Love, the basketball player, wrote an article in the Players Tribune about a panic attack. We did a story on the Today Show. So that was my launching point. And I told my story on the Today Show. Meghan Trainor saw me on the Today Show talking about panic attacks, and then she came out and now she talks about that. So, this chain reaction happens, conversation – it when, when one person tells the story, it unlocks a thousand others. And it’s been happening for years. I’m not the first one to do it, but I’m happy to be a part of that chain. We meet people like Michael Phelps or Simone Biles, athletes do it. But there’s something powerful when role models are so vulnerable. Because I think regular folks can see that to go, wow, that Olympian with that dude on television, if that person can be honest about the vulnerability and can get over it and can survive, can manage it and maybe I can, too.”
