Also beautiful art from the Himalayas, from China, such as what you see behind me. Really, it’s 6,000 years of the very best of human creativity and ingenuity as expressed through art."

"The first red dots that I saw come up on works in the very first few hours were on the most exceptional pieces galleries brought to the fair. Whether it was a 10th century Indian sandstone sculpture, a canvas by Manet or by Brueghel, it was those exceptional pieces that galleries held back and brought to this fair that sold, regardless of the price point. There’s there’s no sticker shock. There is a desire for quality."

"They’re very visually appealing and there’s a materiality to them. You can see from this booth there’s a sort of monochromatic palette to everything apart from one very bright red sculpture by Chamberlain. Chamberlain actually used existing car parts so he doesn’t paint on the metal. The metal is from its original form. And he actually would rough up the metal, sort of drag it across the floor and to give it a sort of patina that appealed to him."
