Foxtron wants to crack the US market with its latest SUV.
STORYLINE:
Foxconn, also known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., is well known for making iPhones for Apple.
But its latest product is a little bigger.
The Taiwanese company owns Foxtron, a subsidiary which produces electric cars.
It has unveiled a new variant of SUV tailored for the U.S. market at the annual Hon Hai Technology Day.
“Our first Model C variant for (the) U.S. market. This is the car we have worked on with our partners from the United States," says Foxtron CEO Andy Lee.
The Model C is equipped with two electric motors and has a driving range of 700 kilometers.
Foxtron claims the Model C can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
Foxtron’s product planning administrator, Emma Lee, introduces another new vehicle.
“How about those narrow urban alleys, remote areas and country roads? Smaller, more agile demands are requested. If you thought the Model T was amazing, let me introduce you to its cool cousin. Please meet the latest member of the Foxtron e-bus family, the model U,” she says.
The electric van can be converted either into a luxury vehicle that can fit through narrow urban alleys, or a camping car suitable for country roads.
The event also showcases an AI robotic arm that is already operational in Hon Hai (Foxconn) factories.
Deburring is a process to remove imperfections on metal products.
