Hurricane Milton aftermath: People in Florida assess damage | DW News

In Florida, a major clean-up operation is underway after Hurricane Milton hit the US state earlier this week. One search mission brought rescue teams nearly 50 kilometres out to sea, where they found the captain of a fishing vessel clinging to a cooler. As the storm approached, contact with the vessel was lost. He was located the next day after surviving what the US coastguard said was a "nightmare scenario". More than five million people were urged to leave their homes before Milton hit the state. Many have been coming back to assess the damage.
