STORYLINE:
Hundreds of people with Israeli flags gathered at the Old Town Square at the heart of the Czech capital Prague to honor the victims of Hamas’ attack against Israel one year ago.
A big screen set up on stage showed pictures of the victims.
“On this day, we don’t just mourn but we’re also aware that it’s necessary to do everything to give such attacks no chance to happen again,” Petr Papousek, the head of the Federation of Jewish Communities in the Czech Republic, said in his address.
"It never stops shocking me, just how many people have been manipulated by Hamas, which has managed to sell its intolerable, fanatical, and deadly hatred of all Jews to the whole world as its national liberation struggle", Czech filmmaker Václav Marhoul said, speaking during the ceremony.
