“The eight grenades exploded, but a soldier from the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) his name was Nir Shapira, managed to remove the grenades. The ninth grenade exploded inside the bomb shelter and blew up (killed) Nir and other people inside. Half of the people were killed in the first attack, and in a state of chaos, smoke, dust and anarchy inside the bomb shelter. Then they entered the protected room and kidnapped four people, including my partner, Eliya Cohen.”

“And suddenly we reach the day that it is a year (since the attack), I say to myself, we have been mistaken, how it is possible that they (hostages) are still there (in captivity in Gaza) for a year, and for people it looks normal. A year in Gaza, a lot of people (there). And I do not think that we are doing nothing, but I think that we are not doing enough to bring them back home.”
