“We are in an area that has the Islamic Heath Organization, it has the Beirut Firefighting Centre, which is 20-25 meters away. There is the civil defense that is affiliated with the Republic of Lebanon, which is also 25 meters away. This Israeli enemy only targeted the rescuers in the civil defense as it did yesterday in the south and in some parts of the Bekaa. This enemy is showing its true face, its criminal face.”

“The word for the resistance is for the battlefield right now. We are handling the (battle) field. Others are dealing with the political dimension. When we reach any offer that is logical and realistic and can achieve a cease-fire in Gaza, as we asked at the beginning, then we will decide what to do. It is all clear. Our position has not changed an inch since the beginning and we will keep this up.”

STORYLINE:
Two Hezbollah lawmakers said on Thursday that the attack on the offices of an Islamic health organization affiliated with the group which killed seven rescuers is a violation of international conventions.
An Israeli airstrike on the building in the center of Lebanon’s capital Beirut housing the offices of the Islamic Health Committee killed at least seven paramedics and rescue workers.
The strike just before midnight on Wednesday came without warning and destroyed an entire floor in the apartment block.
Residents fled after the strike, screaming, and some carried elderly residents out who were living on the floors above the offices.
The Lebanese health ministry said two other people were killed and 14 were injured in the same strike.
Amin Sherri, a Hezbollah member of parliament, went to the site on Thursday.
He said Israel had struck in an area that houses civilians, and other Lebanese civil defense organizations.
Israel has been pounding areas of the country where the Hezbollah militant group has a strong presence since late September, but has rarely struck in the heart of the capital
Meanwhile, another Hezbollah official at the site of the attack, Ibrahim Moussawi, said the group’s fighters are facing off Israeli soldiers on the battlefield in southern Lebanon.
He said no political solution will be acceptable without a cease-fire in Gaza.
Hezbollah began firing rockets at Israel on Oct. 8 in support of Hamas.
