STORYLINE:
Iran held a demonstration on Wednesday to commemorate the late Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, which was attended by a leading cleric.
The demonstration was held in central Tehran and was attended by pro-regime crowds with chants calling for death to the United States and Israel.
The demonstration came a day after Iran launched at least 180 missiles into Israel, the latest in a series of rapidly escalating attacks between Israel and Iran and its Arab allies that threatens to push the Middle East closer to a region-wide war.
Iran said the barrage was in retaliation for a series of devastating blows Israel has landed in recent weeks against the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon, including killing its leader and top commanders.
