STORYLINE:
Mourners in central Gaza held a funeral on Tuesday for victims of an Israeli airstrike that killed at least 11 people on Monday night, according to the hospital that received the victims.
The bodies, some just body parts, arrived at Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, in Central Gaza early Tuesday.
Survivors struggled to identify some bodies as they were so badly damaged in the attacked.
While attention is focused on the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, the Israeli army continues its operation in Gaza where more than 41,500 people have been killed in almost one year, according to the territory’s health ministry.
The ministry’s count doesn’t differentiate between civilians and combatants, but more than half the dead have been women and children, including about 1,300 children under the age of 2.
