7. SOUNDBITE (English) Henri Alexander Levy, fashion designer:
“I don’t think there’s ever, like, a single inspiration. I think I’m collecting small obsessions daily. I’m also making a lot of what I want to make that I feel like doesn’t exist. Or I’ll see, you know, see a coat and be like, oh, I’d like this coat to kind of look like this or go like this. And I’m really doing a lot of character building with, as far as with the casting and each look. Each look is really devised for that particular person. For me, the shows are about much more than clothing. I mean, there’s tireless hours spent on the clothing, but, for me, just a show of clothing, personally, to me, feels kind of meaningless. Like I’m not interested in it. So. I find a way each season to to obsess myself to where I can’t stop thinking about the project and the music, the emotion of the project. And then it really starts becoming about, editing and making really quick, subconscious decisions.”

STORYLINE:
The spirit of punk lived on in Enfant Riches Deprimes latest collection in Paris.
The show took over Sotheby’s auction house across several floors, complete with models in cages in the centre of the room – one who got his head shaved at the beginning of the show.
Speaking after the show – designer Henri Alexander Levy said he designs with himself in mind.
"I find a way each season to to obsess myself to where I can’t stop thinking about the project and the music, the emotion of the project. And then it really starts becoming about, editing and making really quick, subconscious decisions.”
The collection was dark, leather featured heavily in skirts or trousers. Splashes of white featured in blouses.
One model had her arms pinned over her shoulders, and other accessories were again in the form of leather belts or jewellery.
