But also, having been an unwanted daughter myself, that is something very complex; I think that taking care of childhood from being a desired son so that your life is the most beautiful possible is something significant. That’s why I march."

STORYLINE:
Marches for the Global Day for Legal, Safe, and Free Abortion took over several areas of Latin American capitals on Saturday.
On the Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City, a large group of women drummed on wearing the characteristic green bandana worn by those fighting for abortion rights in Latin America.
"I march for them, my friends, and my colleagues who have gone through these situations," said Mexican student Cecilia Ramos.
In central Rio de Janeiro, a group of women made themselves heard under the slogan ‘a girl is not a mother’.
"So today we are echoing our fight, nationally, saying – a child is not a mother, a rapist is not a father.", said activist Tatianny Araújo.
The tide of green bandanas also took to the streets of downtown Lima, Peru, and to the sound of drums, women chanted that "a pregnant child is a raped child."
In Ecuador, voluntary termination of pregnancy is permitted up to 12 weeks of gestation, but only in cases of rape.
"We are marching to demand the Constitutional Court to eliminate the crime of abortion in Ecuador. It is urgent," said activist Verónica Vera.
Some countries that allow termination of pregnancy without conditions are Argentina, Uruguay, Cuba, and Colombia, the latter up to 24 weeks of gestation.
