STORYLINE:
Las madres de casi una decena de jóvenes acusados de terrorismo en Venezuela claman por su libertad, tras casi dos meses de su detención por haberse manifestado contra los resultados anunciados oficialmente o contra el presidente Nicolás Maduro.
Las madres de ocho jóvenes recluidos en un centro de detención del oeste de Caracas se apostaron recientemente a las puertas de la fiscalía general para entregar una carta en la que pedían que sus hijos sean excarcelados.
Tras las elecciones del 28 de julio, en las que Maduro fue declarado ganador sin darse a conocer las actas de votación hasta ahora, hubo varias protestas que reclamaban transparencia y la victoria del entonces candidato opositor Edmundo González. A raíz de las manifestaciones, más de 1.700 personas fueron detenidas con cargos por terrorismo.
Neryda Ruiz, la madre de unos de los detenidos de 16 años, Ángel Moisés Ramírez, asegura que su hijo fue apresado de forma arbitraria el 31 de julio. Recuerda que Ángel estaba cocinando una arepa en su casa cuando funcionarios de las fuerzas de seguridad irrumpieron preguntando por el robo de una motocicleta.
Luego de revisar el teléfono móvil de Ángel y de su tía de 43 años, Marelys Ruiz –que vive en la habitación de al lado–, se lo llevaron detenido.
Como muchos otros detenidos, Ángel fue apresado por las fuerzas de seguridad sin orden judicial y permanece encarcelado desde entonces. Luego le fueron sumando cargos relacionados con las protestas poselectorales.
Desde las elecciones presidenciales del 28 de julio, las fuerzas de seguridad capturaron a más de 2.400 personas. De ellas permanecen detenidas 1.723, de las que 68 son adolescentes, según el grupo local de derechos humanos Foro Penal. A principios de septiembre, 86 adolescentes fueron liberados, indicó Foro Penal, recientemente.
