What quelling the far-right AfD party could mean for German democracy | DW News

A group of German lawmakers wants to ban the far-right political party, the Alternative for Germany or AfD. A section of the party is considered right-wing extremist by the domestic intelligence agency. The AfD enjoyed a record surge in recent elections in three eastern states, a year before national elections are due. Those results could be replicated elsewhere in Germany. Critics say the anti-immigrant party poses a danger to democracy. But as our correspondent Matthew Moore reports, many YOUNG voters support the party.
