5. SOUNDBITE (English) Naomi Lopian, tourist from England:
“I’m angry that I got woken up at 6:30 by a rocket attack from Lebanon. But I also feel for the Israelis who live with this day in, day out. We see over 8-thousand rockets since October the 8th and that children get woken up. And I was thinking at this time, people go to work and they’re at risk for their lives. And also the fear and the terror that families must feel, children must feel, that their lives are threatened. And I feel that Israeli citizens, and particularly the government, have a right to defend.”

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Roi Shleifer, Israeli living abroad:
“We arrived on Sunday and we were just sleeping in our bed and we heard the siren and woke us up. She woke me up and we just ran to the stairs because they don’t have a shelter in the hotel. So we had to run to the stairs and just harbored there for ten minutes and just went back to the room.”

9. SOUNDBITE (English) Roi Shleifer and Penny Shleifer, Israelis living abroad:
Roi: “We are Israelis, we grew up here, so we know it. We served in the army, so it’s not, it’s not a surprise to us. We’re not afraid coming in here, you know for us it is home, always will be. So for pretty good, I mean it’s not pleasant.”
Penny: "It was a little unpleasant to wake up to that.”

11. SOUNDBITE (English) Hana Wolff, Israeli citizen:
“We happen to vacation here on a hotel on the beach."
Reporter: "Where from?"
Wolff: "From another city in Israel taking a vacation, and it surprised us but it’s not the first time at 6:30 in the morning that we’re being surprised. So I can’t say we were too hysterical. We went into a safe zone in the hotel and here we are walking again, and the city is back to life, as do Israelis, really in every place and in every city in this country. We just bounce back.”

STORYLINE:
Residents and tourists in Tel Aviv were woken early Wednesday after Hezbollah launched a missile at the city in its deepest strike yet into Israel, marking a further escalation after Israeli strikes on Lebanon killed hundreds of people.
The Israeli military said it intercepted the projectile, which set off air raid sirens in Tel Aviv and across central Israel, and there were no reports of casualties or damage.
“It surprised us, but it’s not the first time at 6:30 in the morning that we’re being surprised. So I can’t say we were too hysterical,” said Hana Wolff, an Israeli on holiday in Tel Aviv.
“We went into a safe zone in the hotel and here we are walking again, and the city is back to life,” she added.
Hezbollah said it targeted the headquarters of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, which it blames for the targeted killings of its commanders and for an attack in which explosives hidden in personal devices killed dozens and wounded thousands, including many Hezbollah members.
