STORYLINE:
Malaysian police have rescued dozens more children and raided premises nationwide linked to an Islamic business group as an investigation for alleged sexual assault of children and deviant teachings deepened.

Malaysia’s national police chief Razarudin Husain said in Kuala Lumpur on Monday that another 187 children were rescued in another operation against Global Ikhwan Services and Business, or GISB Holdings.

He said they included a boy seen being caned by an alleged GISB member and another child seen being stepped on in online videos that went viral.

Police also arrested another 156 suspects. In all, Razarudin said police have rescued 572 children under 18 years old from welfare homes and centers linked to GISB since the case came to light earlier this month.
