STORYLINE:
A wave of Israeli strikes hit southern Lebanon on Saturday as Israel and Hezbollah traded fire.
The strikes hit different parts of the tense region near the border with Israel while local TV stations said some strikes reached the eastern Bekaa Valley.
An Israeli military spokesman posted on X that Israel’s air force is currently attacking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
The strikes come a day after heavy exchanges along the border as well as a rare Israeli airstrike on a Beirut southern suburb that killed 31 people, including a top Hezbollah commander.
