STORYLINE:
Megan Thee Stallion welcomed the crowd as a first-time MTV Video Music Awards host Wednesday night and joked that the VMAs now stands for the “voluptuous Megan awards.”
She walked the black carpet before the show started in a strapless black gown with a black bodysuit and a sheer, pleated skirt.
Katy Perry, who will receive the Video Vanguard Award and also perform, posed on the carpet with fiancé Orlando Bloom, in a white shredded bralette with a matching low-rise skirt.
Tate McRae’s look for the evening was a tribute to Britney Spears. The singer wore a black balconette bra and matching underwear under a see-through lace dress by Roberto Cavalli.
It nearly matched the Dolce & Gabbana outfit Spears memorably wore to the VMA’s in 2001 in navy blue.
Paris Hilton wore a distressed Celia Kritharioti dress with bedazzled chainmail accents.
Camila Cabello, Benson Boone, GloRilla, The Kid Laroi, Busta Rhymes and Tinashe were among the other artists who walked the carpet.
