The head of the United Nations Antonio Guterres has condemned the killing of six UN staff members in an Israeli strike on a school housing displaced Palestinians in central Gaza. In a post on X, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said what is happening in the territory is "totally unacceptable." 12 other civilians were reportedly also killed in Israel’s strike on the Al-Jawni school in Nuseirat on Wednesday. The school houses a UN-run facility where thousands of Gazans were sheltering. It had already been bombed several times before. The Israeli military said this latest attack was a "precision strike" targeting a Hamas command center.
