Why German parties failed to work together on migration | DW News

The German government says it wants to implement European rules on asylum more strictly. Under the plan, more people would be turned away at the border and sent back to the EU countries that they traveled through to get to Germany. The announcement comes one day after Berlin said it would tighten controls on all its land borders from next week.. to protect the public from the threat of Islamist violence and curb irregular migration. Germany’s neighbors and the EU have criticized the move.
