STORYLINE:
Survivors of a deadly Russian missile attack in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv described Thursday the moment of the explosions and their effort to rush to safety.

“I decided to take a look and see what was happening," said Yelyzaveta Harapko, a local resident and survivor of attack. "I went to close the window, to shut it. And as I was lowering the blinds, there was an explosion. Then sparks flew everywhere, and the window was gone. After that, I heard someone shout, and later I heard cries: ‘Help, people are trapped under the rubble!’”

The Sept. 4 attack killed seven people in the city’s historic center, including a mother and her three daughters, who have become a multi-generation symbol of the country’s struggle to survive the war.
