STORYLINE:
Showbiz power couple Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz brought glamour to the red carpet at the premiere of one of the Venice Film festival’s most hotly anticipated movies, Luca Guadagnino’s "Queer."
Craig’s co-stars – Drew Starkey, Jason Schwartzman, Lesley Manville, Omar Apollo and Henry Zaga – also posed for photographers.
Other guests at the premiere included Pedro Almodóvar and Tilda Swinton, along with Isabelle Huppert, who is the jury president of the 81st edition of the festival.
“Queer” is another Guadagnino collaboration with screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes, who wrote tennis smash "Challengers."
Craig plays an outcast in 1940s Mexico City, who becomes infatuated with a younger man, played by Drew Starkey. It is based on a novel of the same name by William S. Burroughs.
The Venice International Film Festival runs through 7 September 2024.
