Similarly, the impact of climate change on food security in Africa, the delay in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and the deterioration of security in some parts of the continent, confronted by conflicts between states, maintain our attention.”

STORYLINE:
The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held a ministerial conference on Tuesday, ahead of Thursday’s leaders’ summit between China’s President Xi Jinping and 54 leaders of African countries.
China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Senegal’s Foreign Minister Yassin Fall co-chaired the conference in Beijing.
Wang Yi told African ministers that the theme of the summit will be to "work together to promote modernization and build a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future."
He said Xi will present a series of new initiatives and action plans to promote the cooperation with African nations during the summit meetings.
She voiced concerns about the impact of issues including food security, climate change, and security in conflict zones on the continent.
