France’s new right-wing Prime Minister Michel Barnier, a former foreign minister who recently acted as the European Union’s Brexit negotiator, is the oldest premier in the history of modern France. Barnier faces the immediate challenge of forming a cabinet that can bridge the ideological rifts between the left, right and centrist blocs in parliament. Maria Jacot, Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management France CEO, looks at the PM’s ability to complete a budget in record time. She also comments on the outlook for French stocks.
