“At this very hour in the Organization of American States there is a permanent council where the IACHR (Inter-American Commission on Human Rights) is reporting what it calls, ‘state terrorism practices’. What they have done is brutal. There are more than 2500 people detained including more than 150 children, child prisoners, kidnapped by Nicolás Maduro.”

STORYLINE:
Con una concurrida marcha, la oposición venezolana reivindicó como un logro que su lucha se haya convertido en una causa mundial a un mes de las cuestionadas elecciones presidenciales en las que el presidente Nicolás Maduro se arrogó el triunfo. La líder opositora María Corina Machado defendió la victoria del excandidato de oposición Edmundo González ante una multitud y aseguró que se mantienen firmes para confrontar los resultados que anunció la autoridad electoral sobre los comicios presidenciales que favorecían al mandatario venezolano.
Las elecciones han sido cuestionadas por los opositores de Maduro y por la comunidad internacional, por falta de transparencia, ante la falta de difusión de las actas electorales oficiales que permitan la verificación de resultados. A la jornada de votación, le sucedieron varias jornadas de protestas que dejaron al menos una veintena de muertos y más de 1.700 detenidos, según organizaciones civiles.
Los partidarios del oficialismo, por su parte, marcharon rumbo al palacio de gobierno para celebrar la reelección de Maduro.
Maduro, que se postuló en busca de un tercer mandato de seis años, afirma que ganó la elección por más de un millón de votos y su gobierno ha desafiado los pedidos de Estados Unidos, la Unión Europea e incluso aliados de izquierda como Brasil, Colombia y México para que publique las actas de votación que respaldan esa afirmación.
