STORYLINE:
Participants closed the Tango BA World Dance Championship with a grand finale championship in Buenos Aires in Argentina in front of thousands of fans.
With a record number of participants, amateurs and professionals showcased their talent in stage and salon tango categories at the Movistar Arena.
More than 750 couples from 53 countries participated in the qualifying rounds.
Tango, celebrated for its unique richness as a UNESCO World Heritage, is a traditional dance from South America, with Argentina and Uruguay being most recognized as its main adopters.
Since the last century, the popularity of this dance has reached other continents, with people dancing and enjoying tango music in distant countries like Russia and Japan.
The Tango BA Festival and World Championship display a nostalgic side of Buenos Aires’ music, dance, and poetry, spreading across the city’s top venues, along with other traditional tango spaces in various neighborhoods, such as dance halls, bars, tango houses, museums, and academies.
