STORYLINE:
The brother of rescued hostage Qaid Farhan Alkadi has spoken to reporters at Soroka Medical Center after being reunited with him.

Jumaa Alkadi said his brother ate one baklava and had reunited with his youngest son.

"Thanks to the people who prayed for us, that spoke, to the whole world, to all the good people in the world," he told reporters.

The 52-year-old is one of eight hostages to be rescued alive, and was the first to be rescued from underground, according to the Israeli military.

Alkadi was one of eight members of Israel’s Arab Bedouin minority abducted on October 7. He was working as a guard at a packing factory in Kibbutz Magen, one of several farming communities that came under attack.

He has two wives and is the father of 11 children.
