13,600-Year-Old Mastodon Skull Found in Iowa

Researchers at the University of Iowa have just uncovered the skull and several bones of a mastodon. Archaeologists say the mastodon was an early ancestor to the modern day elephant. They roamed North America 3.5 million years ago until about 10,500 years ago. It took about 12 days of digging to unearth the mastodon. Archaeologists also found stone tools and several other human-made artifacts. Inside Edition Digital has more.
