1. SOUNDBITE (English) Robert F. Kennedy Jr.:
"In my heart, I no longer believe that I have a realistic past of electoral victory in the face of this relentless, systematic censorship and media control. So I cannot in good conscience, ask my staff and volunteers to keep working their long hours, or ask my donors to keep gaming when I cannot honestly tell them that I have a real path to the White House. Furthermore, our polling consistently showed I staying on the ballot in the battleground states, I would likely and the election over to the Democrats with whom I disagree on the most existential issues."

2. SOUNDBITE (English) Robert F. Kennedy Jr.:
"The chronic disease crisis was one of the primary reasons for my running for president, along with ending censorship in the Ukraine war. It’s the reason I’ve made the heart wrenching decision to suspend my campaign and to support President Trump. This decision is agonizing for me because of the difficulties it causes my wife and my children and my friends. But I have the certainty that this is what I’ve meant to do, and that certainty gives me internal peace, even in storms."
STORYLINE:
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says he’s suspending his independent presidential bid and is backing Donald Trump.
Kennedy said Friday in Arizona that his internal polls show his presence in the race would hurt Trump and help Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
"Our polling consistently showed that by staying on the ballot in the battlegrounds states I would likely hand the election over to the Democrats, with whom I disagree," he said.
He made clear that he wasn’t formally ending his bid and said his supporters could continue to back him in the majority of states where they are unlikely to sway the outcome. Kennedy said the move followed conversations with Trump over the past few weeks.
Kennedy took steps to withdraw his candidacy in at least two states late this week, Arizona and Pennsylvania.
Kennedy said the move followed conversations with Donald Trump over the past few weeks and told reporters he is now throwing his "support to President Trump.’
He cited free speech, the war in Ukraine and “a war on our children” as among the reasons to try to remove his name from the ballot in battleground states.
