STORYLINE:
The families of Hamas-held hostages and their supporters gathered in Tel Aviv on Monday evening, urging US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to put pressure to finally reach a cease-fire deal and bring their loved ones back.

“We are here to say it out loudly; Blinken, Antony Blinken please push (Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu for a deal at any price because I want my son to be free, I want my son back home”, said Yehuda Cohen, whose son, Nimrod, is still held in Gaza.

"We know that only with vast help of the American administration a deal will come," Cohen said.

Blinken, who met with Netanyahu and other officials, said it’s time to conclude a cease-fire agreement that would return hostages held by Hamas and bring relief to Palestinian suffering after more than 10 months of devastating war in Gaza.

It’s his ninth urgent mission to the Middle East since the conflict began, and comes days after mediators, including the United States, expressed renewed optimism that a deal was near.

However, Hamas has expressed deep dissatisfaction with the latest proposal and Israel has said there were points on which it was unwilling to compromise.
