What China gains from panda cubs in Berlin | DW News

Berlin Zoo has welcomed two new giant panda cubs. Meng Meng gave birth to the twins just eleven days after scans showed she was pregnant.
The panda cubs were conceived through artificial insemination. Meng Meng also had twins five years ago. Those babies were returned to China. As in nature, Panda daddy Jiao Qing is not involved in rearing the cubs. Like their parents, the cubs belong to the Chinese state, which only lends pandas to selected countries.
