“Our basic aim is to counter the violence and extremism. There is a lot of violence – be it religious violence or terrorism. We are facing violence of many kinds here. We want to counter that, we need to work for peace building.”

You will find drug sellers in every street. You will find armed youth who are involved in snatching.”

STORYLINE:
LEADIN:
A youth arts centre in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city, is steering the area’s young on the right path.
‘House of Love’, as it’s known, is located in Lyari, an area notorious for its criminal gangs.
STORYLINE:
Twenty-four-year-old Zaid Naseem is a budding filmmaker, studying at university.
But a few years ago, he had no idea which career to choose.
He found his path in life after joining Mehr Ghar (House of Love), a space where youngsters learn film making and other arts.
“If there was no Mehr Ghar, I would not be studying at a university. I might not have found my path in life," says Naseem.
"Everyone is born with a purpose, I might have missed my purpose.”
Mehr Ghar is situated in the Lyari area of Pakistan’s largest city, Karachi, notorious for its criminal gangs.
Naz says her aim is to build peace.
